Origin-DNA is an Ancestral DNA system that the Author developed in partnership with his Co-Founder. It was based on FamilyTreeDNA's Family Finder test. A combination of known DNA analysis techniques were integrated together with proprietary techniques, that had been developed by the Author / Inventor, and written up into a Specification.
Processing the steps required to develop and analyze the Ancestral DNA Data is a fit for purpose application for computer software and this is what the Origin-DNA System did.
The Origin-DNA software was itself developed by the other Origin-DNA Co-founder. Together, both Co-Founders then formed a new separate Origin-DNA LLC, to deliver Ancestral DNA Analysis Services to Customers. The Origin-DNA Service was launched in mid 2020, and Origin-DNA LLC was formed in Jan 2021.
However, in June 2021, FamilyTreeDNA changed the data processing schema of their Family Finder product, which significantly removed much of the fine grain data granularity of the atDNA CSV output files and also removed all the email address information.
Additionally, the Author discovered as a result of using the Origin-DNA System that in order to be able use the Family Finder data to concretely solve a person's ancestry - that you need a number of 2nd cousins who have also taken the atDNA Family Finder test. However, most people do not know who and where their 2nd cousins are and cannot contact them. This means that the value of the Family Finder test is quite limited for almost all of the people who purchase the test. This 2nd cousin "fact" plus FamilyTreeDNA's decision to reduce the granularity of the data, has meant that the Co-Founders of Origin-DNA, LLC thought it best to pause on a retail offering of its Services.
Their were also a number of other complexities relating to the Origin-DNA System, one of which required an API from FamilyTreeDNA to interface with the Origin-DNA System - for which FamilyTreeDNA would not provide. Given all the issues listed above, the Co-Founders decided that the most pragmatic step to take was to dissolve Origin-DNA, and move the IP developed by the Co-Founders back to their respective Co-Founders LLC's. The Co-Founders aim now is to review the potential next steps - when they have time in the future. The concept behind Origin-DNA has been validated, however it needs further refinement - and would be best to be incorporated WITHIN an existing DNA companies system - such as Ancestry.com, 23andMe, GedMatch and FamilyTreeDNA.
The Origin-DNA System was used by the Author to make a number of new discoveries, as it enables a researcher (in this case - the Author) to poll the atDNA Family Finder core data using Origin-DNA's sophisticated database search algorithm. Some of these new discoveries are documented in the Author's Appendix 4, Appendix 5 and Appendix 6 papers - with all of these papers being available to download via this website. Additionally, the Origin-DNA System was used to validate the Author's BRF claims by datamatching with known descendants of the Romanov dynasty - more on this will be documented in the future Appendix 7.
The Author also decided that his focus would now swing fully to his other innovative idea i.e. I-LIVE-ON CORPORATION
